Etex has sold its clay tile business in Portugal to roofing specialist EDILIANS

Umbelino Monteiro, Etex’s Portuguese clay tile business for the past 12 years, was successfully sold to European roofing solutions provider EDILIANS on 2 August after meeting all the deal closing conditions.

Participating to the roofing market consolidation trend

A strong player on the European roofing market, EDILIANS was established nearly 180 years ago. It owns 12 clay tile production facilities in France and will be an experienced, knowledgeable parent company for Umbelino Monteiro.

The sale of this business is part of Etex’s strategy to focus on its core business areas in the context of the ongoing residential roofing market consolidation across Europe. All activities of Umbelino Monteiro related to fibre cement building materials, a core technology of Etex, will remain with Etex.
